For the past two years dance artists shannon stewart and Tahni Holt have woven their interests together creating a kinship in deeply researched embodied forms. It is a form of love and friendship that brings together creation and community, in a way that mirrors their individual practices as artists and organizers/builders in the respective places they live. Shannon and Tahni’s work resides in the study of interconnected systems–ecology, history, performative bodies (including non-human), and expansive understandings of communication. Together they have danced FOREST in Portland, OR, Lawrence, KS, New Orleans, LA. And now Whitman College in Walla Walla, WA. www.shannonstewart.org // @thsurrealshannonstewart www.tahniholt.com // @tahniholt The Forest: Rebecca Allen, Cypress Atlas, Wes Chavis, paris cyan cian, Sierrah Dietz, Joanna Farley, Ann Glaviano, Rhi Jade, roni katz, Katey Coe, and garima thakur.
